The family is very important as a unit in our society. Nothing else but family can be an emotional center of people's life, can be a transmitter of culture and raising children. Every mother feels great affection for her children and tries to bring them up in a proper way.
Understanding between the members of the family and consideration for others are very important in family relationship. Tenderness, warm-heartedness and respect must always be present in the family to make it friendly. In my early childhood going shopping was a holiday for me, especially when my Granny took me with her. I knew for sure, I would get a sweet or a bar of chocolate or an ice-cream, all the things I enjoyed greatly.

When we want to buy something, we go to a shop. There are many kinds of shops in every town or city, but most of them have a food supermarket, a department store, men's and women's clothing stores, grocery, a bakery and a butchery.
I like to do my shopping at big department stores and supermarkets. They sell various goods under one roof and this is very convenient. On weekdays I usually get up nearly seven o'clock. I do not like to get up early, but I have to, because I have a lot of work to do during the day. The Smiths live at 87 King Street. In the morning Mr. Smith goes to work and the children go to school. Their father takes them to school every day. Mrs. Smith stays at home every day. A typical day goes something like this. We get up around 6 a.m., wash, have some coffee and toast, let the dog outside and feed him, bring the dog back in and leave for work. I've been studying in my native school since the first form. Our school is considered to be one of the best in our city and I fully agree with that statement. That's why a lot of parents want their children to enter our school.
It is much easier to get to some universities after you've finished our school because of the good quality of education. Bright examples of it are the graduates of our school who have archived the great results in different fields of science.
One of the greatest advantages of our school is that all the tenth forms are divided into three grades, so that all pupils could choose the form the deeper studying of the subject he is interested in, which he considers to be of a vital importance for him.

I am a pupil of the 9th form of a secondary school in Moscow. Our school gives general education. When at school, children study Russian, Russian literature, History and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and a foreign language. We also have classes in crafts for boys and home economics for girls, physical education, arts and music.

The school where I studied is situated not far from my house. It is a modern four-storeyed building of a typical design. In front of the school there is a big sportsground, behind it there is a small garden with a beautiful flowers. Here on the sportsground pupils have their classes in physical training when the weather is fine.
When you enter the school you'll see a large gymnasium, work-shops and a canteen on the left. On the right there is a Headmaster's office. The cloak-room is downstairs. I've got a sister. Her name is Kate. She's three. I’m not a very sociable person. To my mind, it’s not obliged for people to have a lot of friends in order to be happy. It’s enough, as I think, to have one or two friends who are able to understand you and to support you in hard situations. So, there are few people whom I can call friends. My friend is a very good, kind and clever boy. We often spend our free time together. It is not very easy now, because both of us are very busy - we are going to enter the institutes and have a lot of work to do.

I live in a 5-stored block of flats in Yushno – Sakhalinsk. It’s not a very picturesque plaice but we have a yard and a Kodak Express under the window. My flat is on the third floor. It’s very comfortable and well planed. I have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, cold and hot running water and a telephone. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a balcony in it. The largest room in my flat is the living room. My family uses it as a siting room. Vladivostok occupies the peninsula of Murav'ev-Amursky which is washed by Amur and Ussuri gulfs. One part of this peninsula, called Egersheld (it was named after one of the explores of Russian Far-East), is my native district.
Egersheld is known from the foundation of Vladivostok. More then one hundred years ago the first houses for the seamen appeared in it. Since that time Egersheld is known as the working center of the city. Now, for example, the territory of the commercial port is situated in this district. Egersheld is the most environmental friendly district in the city as it is open to strong sea winds which blow out all harmful substances in the air and clouds of dust. Of course, this has a negative side - the average temperature in the district in winter is lower than in the other parts of Vladivostok.
I'm fond of reading. Usually I borrow books from the library, but I have a lot of them at home, too. I like to read books about the history of our country, about famous people and the life of my contemporaries abroad. Literature means much in my life. It helps to form the character and the world outlook, to understand life better.
There are some names in Russian and foreign literatures that are very dear to me. In Russian literature I value Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev highly. For me he is a real intellectual and aristocrat, a man of culture, devoted to literature, music and painting. Though he lived abroad for a long time he didn't stop to be a Russian writer for a moment.

One of my favorite artists is Rembrant is the greatest Dutch master, one of the supreme geneuses in the history of art. To this day the art of Rembrant remains one of the most profound witness of the progress of the soul in it's earthly pilgrimage towards the realisation of higher destiny. The son of the prosperous miller, Rembrant was born in Leiden in 1608. He studied at Leiden University, but his real vocation was painting. The family is very important as a unit in our society. Nothing else but family can be an emotional center of people's life, can be a transmitter of culture and raising children. Every mother feels great affection for her children and tries to bring them up in a proper way.
Understanding between the members of the family and consideration for others are very important in family relationship. Tenderness, warm-heartedness and respect must always be present in the family to make it friendly. A lot of activities help members of the family to be on friendly terms: discussing all the family plans together, going on trips hikes together, visiting museums, theatres, exhibitions and exchanging opinions about them, sharing the same joys and sorrows.
Family, in my opinion, is someone who loves you and whom you love either. It can be not only your parents but also people who are dear to you, who take care of you. For example orphans have no parents but maybe on their lifeways they meet people who become dear and important for them and they name it family. Or when you grow up and go away from your parents you meet someone who is another half of you – this man is also your family.
If you have someone who can do everything for you and you can do the same – you are lucky you have a family. I think that the family in this point of view is one of the most important things in our life, and people who have no family are always lonely and moreover nobody takes care of them.
My family is not large. I have got mother, father and grandmother. There are four of us in the family.
My mother is a teacher of biology. She works in a school. She likes her profession. She is a good-looking woman with brown hair. She is 44 but she looks much younger.
My father is computer-programmer. He is forty-six. My father often sings and when we are at home and have some free time I play the guitar and we sing together. He is also handy with many things. In my opinion family is one of the most important things in one's life. Almost all our life we live within a family.

Many people have hobbies. They make our life more interesting. A hobby is what people like to do when they have free time. Everyone chooses a hobby according to his character and taste. Some people are fond of music, others like to read books. Some people like to collect stamps, coins or badges, others prefer gardening or hiking or taking photographs. Some people like to cook, others like to knitter sew. Generally speaking, a hobby is a matter of taste.
